At the O’Brien Clinic we specialise in prescribing custom made orthotics

What are Custom Made Orthotics?

Custom orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes – they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment.

When there are problems with your foot alignment, this can often affect both your feet and the rest of the muscular skeletal structure. Examples of these symptoms include:

  • Arch/heel pain
  • Knee pain
  • Back /neck pain
  • Hip/groin pain
  • Ankle pain
  • Shin pain
  • Localized foot pain
  • Bunions, hammer toes

Unlike other providers we don’t just scan your feet on a force platform. Instead we provide our patients with a very comprehensive assessment for orthotic prescription.

We understand your body mechanics and promise take your entire body into consideration and not just your feet!

What makes our orthotics so good?

At the O’Brien Clinic we preform full biomechanical assessments using many physiotherapy assessment tools.

We use slow motion video analysis, treadmill walking and running to establish the exact biomechanical abnormality and how it affects your body.

Custom orthotics will not reduce muscles tone. They will help position your foot so you will be using the right muscles at the right time, minimizing fatigue and allowing your muscles to be used more efficiently

The O’Brien Clinic also offers a carefully-selected line of footwear that can accommodate custom orthotics, as well as custom sandals that have your prescribed orthotic built right in.
