Manipulation & Mobilisation

Manipulation & Mobilisation are used by Physiotherapists to improve the mobility and the function of your soft tissues, spine,  joints,  muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Manipulation is usually performed as a very fast movement on the spine to provide pain relief and increase flexibility. Whereas mobilisation is a slower technique performed on joints ligaments or muscle, also used for pain reduction and flexibility improvement.
Mobilisation can be gentle or deep depending on what is more appropriate for your condition. We sometimes use mobilisation belts as a treatment technique when appropriate.

Clinical Expertise

The O’Brien Clinic are experts on the body’s musculoskeletal system and will use Manipulation and Mobilisation as part of their treatment dependent on your condition.

Our Physiotherapists are Chartered and have training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, particularly back pain and neck pain.

Our Physiotherapists will also work with you to gain a better understanding of the problem or injury you have. We want to identify the specific cause of the problem so we can advise you on how to prevent this pain from reoccurring as well as providing you with lasting results. Our overall aim is to improve your strength, mobility, coordination and body awareness in order to prevent you injury reoccurring
